OH MOTHER, THERE COULD NEVER BE ANOTHER!
A POETRY DEDICATED TO MY MOM AND ALL MOTHERS
Mother,
Could there ever be another?
Oh mother…
There could be no other!
For nine months
you bore the burden…
of my growth,
Inside you,
Your love was true,
When I moved, you knew,
When I grew, they knew,
When your tummy swelled,
and your legs_
so did your smile,
a jovial grin seen from a mile!
Mother,
Could there ever be another?
Oh mother…
There could be no other!
I could hear your prayer,
That I be healthy and well,
Even when unwell,
No one could tell,
Not even me inside you!
Mother,
Could there ever be another?
Oh mother…
There could be no other!
So the day came,
…and the water broke,
I had to come to my mum
After hours of labor,
the heavy breathing,
the pushing and screaming
the pain of birth,
the contractions,
suddenly…
eclipsed, by my incessant cry
a new born!
Tired,
exhausted,
but still…
.. you nursed me!
In your arms
I could feel your heart beat,
My first sound music,
A beautiful love song!
Mother,
Could there ever be another?
Oh mother…
There could be no other!
My mum you deserve
All my love,
You are a blessing from above
With you I could never starve.
Like a soothing salve,
You are all I have
A scion of love!
Mother,
Could there ever be another?
Oh mother…
There could be no other!
